(More customer reviews)It's surprisingly good. Tastes like dried apples with a little raisin thrown in - I didn't really notice the veggie part. It smells pretty weird, and whenever I eat it around my friends, I get funny looks and wrinked noses, but the smell doesn't affect the taste at all! Though you don't want to replace actual fresh fruit and vegetables with this bar, I do think it's better than not having them at all, and I try to keep one in my bag for the really long days. I definitely prefer eating this to vending machine snacks or yet another fast food meal (the only choices near my school).

(More customer reviews)I was searching for a high protein, low carb bar and this seems to fit the bill. When you look at all the choices out there it's tough to line them all up, especially with the sugar alcohols and what's digestible, etc. Some bars out there still use Corn Syrup, other's more maltitol or other artificial sweeteners, some gooey, some not.. Really just a personal preference. If you want a bar that's solid, a good size (not mega massive but not as tiny as some other supplement bars), and reasonably tasty this bar isn't bad (Guys, it's a good size and filling).
I bought three flavors: S'more, Chocolate Peanut Butter and Chocolate Brownie, I like the taste and texture of chocolate brownie the best (Again, personal preference). They are dense and somewhat heavier than most, but not like a 0-impact bar or some other bar that's the equivelent of eating modeling clay. They do use Maltitol and a small amount of corn syrup, but the net carbs are very low after it's gone through the process. All in all, it's a good bar for the money and 33Grams of protein is not bad for a bar of this size... Good for men (or women) trying to supplement enough protein without having to load up on more meat/meals/time... It also seems to contain 25% of all your essentials as well: A, C, D, E, K, Thiamin, Riboflavin, Niacin, B6, Folate, B12, Biotin, Iron... Not the end all perfect SOLUTION, but great for when you're on the go and need that extra protein due to meal absence.

(More customer reviews)I eat a lot of protein bars for snacks and meal replacements. I've tried a lot of different varieties and was getting a little bored with the tastes out there. But I recently got an Eat-Smart bar at a tradeshow and really liked it. It was really different because of the crisps and wasn't too sweet- it didn't taste like I was eating a candy bar full of sugar which I liked. And the Nutrition Facts panel was right in line with what I was looking for- especially the low sugar alcohols because those can mess with me sometimes. I would recommend giving this bar a try.

(More customer reviews)yummy. some of the best tasting protein bars available. great for low-carb dieters or diabetics if you believe in the theory that "net carbs" (carbs minus fiber, etc.) should be counted instead of just "carbs". no artificial sweeteners like sucralose, etc., which is good if you think those things may cause cancer...the low "net carbs" are due to a high amount of "sugar alcohols". these bars are best found for less than $1 per bar or $15 per 15 bar case.
ABOUT SUGAR ALCOHOLS
Sugar alcohols are usually incompletely absorbed into the blood stream from the small intestines which generally results in a smaller change in blood glucose than regular sugar (sucrose). This makes them popular sweeteners among diabetics and low-carb dieters. As with many other incompletely digestible substances (dietary fiber), overconsumption can lead to bloating, diarrhea and flatulence because they are not absorbed in the small intestine. Doesn't happen to me... Good luck.

These fiber carbohydrates are calorie free. Sugar Alcohols generally have little effect on blood sugar. (More customer reviews)Going on Weight Watchers has its challenges. I have lost about 40 lbs to date and it has been good but I find that many of the products recommended by them have too much sugar. For example, everyone suggested Fiber One Bars as a snack because they are low in points. I noticed though that they spiked my blood sugar and stalled my weight loss. I switched to Extend Bars and boy, what a difference! I eat one of these every day, some times two. I really like them before bed or in the morning to help stabilize my blood sugar (I am hypoglycemic, pre-diabetic). I never have trouble eating breakfast now, these with a glass of skim milk or coffee and milk and a piece of fruit and I am good to go until lunch.
What is the difference between Extend Bars and the rest on the market? First, they are only a 150 calories with only 3 grams of fat but 11 grams of protein per bar. They also have 5 grams of fiber, just enough to help digestion, without causing stomach discomfort. (Something I can not say about some of the others on the market!)
I can not find another bar on the market to match those protein and fiber stats for the little calories and fat exchange. Also, the glycemic index is low because this bar contains a special slow digesting corn starch created from a corn grain that is different than the normal variety. It does not allow the blood sugar to spike, which can stall weight loss. This is the number one selling point for me, high protein and low glycemic...
Finally because I really believe we eat WAY too many processed carbs in our diet, this satisfied me in another area, it has a low net carb ratio, and does it WITHOUT the use of high levels of sugar alcohol. There are only 4 grams of sugar alcohol per bar, that is completely different than any other low carb bar on the market.
I really like the Chocolate and Peanut Butter, but not too wild about the berry and apple ones though. These taste exactly like the South Beach Cereal Bars, just less sweet. Give them a chance, they are not going to be as sweet as other things on the market...but they are great with coffee or milk...helps them not be too dry. Be sure to drink plenty of water as will any high fiber bar.

(More customer reviews)i love these bars! the combination of fruit and nuts is so delicate it provides a wonderful texture/tasting experience. the crunch of the sprinkled nuts is just right. the texture and moisture content of the fruit is just right. my dogs love them also! if you want a really fine snacking experience combine one bite of this bar with one bite of fine cheese. WOW! or one bite of this bar with one bite of fine chocolate. WOW! i haven't had any problems eating these bars from my pack while hiking.
i really appreciate that the fat content of this bar is low.

(More customer reviews)I've tried all the organic raw bars I could find and this brand (and this flavor) is my favorite. It reminds me of a tootsie roll. I've never been a huge tootsie roll fan, but I just love these. My sister-in-law likes the cinnamon one best. It may be cinnamon raisin or something like that - I have forgotten.
I usually take fruit along with me for a snack, but there are times when it's good to have something along for emergencies - something that will fit in my purse. This bar is perfect for that. Plus, it will hold my appetite in check til I can get home.
This bar is easy to eat on the run. Granola and some other carry along snacks can get messy. Not this bar.
The ingredient list is good. Agave nectar is technically not raw, but I assume everything else is. The label includes an impressive list of major points - raw, cold pressed, gluten free, no refined sugars, no soy, no dairy, no peanuts, non GMO.
There are 18g of sugar, but my diet is very good so one of these now and then doesn't worry me.

(More customer reviews)I ended up picking these up at a local health food store. Then I purchased the other variety pack, which had Chocolate Brownie, Chocolate Chip and Crunchy Peanut Butter. I had low expectations of this set due to the Oatmeal Raisin/Blueberry Crisp mini bars. Neither sounded particularly appetizing.
Well, I type this morning a changed man. The two mini bars I suspected would be the worst flavors were the best, while my wife and I agree that the Chocolate Brownie borders on inedible.
We pack lunches every day as part of a budget/weight-loss plan (thus, the mini bars), and on days I include a Blueberry Crisp mini Clif Bar, I am generally in a good mood and looking forward to lunch.

Oh, and my 9 year old recommends them, too.

Then I looked at the source of the fat - nuts, etc. and everything else they offer - all organic and unprocessed ingredients, 6g of fiber, Omega 3s and 6s, 3oz of good, filling and healthy stuff and instantly got over the "fat issue". This flavor, in particular, is a bit more sweet fruity with chunks of apple and raisins. YUM!

(More customer reviews)I really like these chews a lot - particularly the raspberry flavor. Good amount of chewiness, and the flavor center is not like a gusher or anything gross. Not sticky at all, which is a big complaint against Gu Chomps and Honey Stingers chews. My only complaint is that they do get super, super chewy when they get cold and they are kind of high in calories. Having 1.5 servings in a bag is not the easiest portion amount either, particularly if you only want to down half a serving. But this is a very technical complaint, and the flavor and product itself is good.

(More customer reviews)We discovered Luna Bars at a grocery store recently when they were on sale for a dollar apiece. We bought one of each kind to see which ones we like best. We figured for that price how could we go wrong. Well after trying all of them, my wife has weighed in...
HER FAVORITE: Chocolate Pecan Pie.
She loves Chocolate. She lives on Chocolate. And since we're on a diet similar to Body for Life and has a hard time stomaching the whey-filled protein bars, these are a welcome treat. They aren't overloaded with protein, but for the calories are extremely comparable to the leading protein bars (in a calorie-protein ratio comparison). Our only complain with the bars is that they're a little high in fat, especially saturated. Nevertheless, they are much, much better than most other treats out there.
Now, where to buy? Well Amazon of course. It is great. Amazon is the same price as local stores when they are on sale except Amazon provides free shipping and no tax (not to mention no driving to the grocery store or healthfood store) so they actually end up being cheaper on here everyday than elsewhere on sale. We always buy all of our drinks and bars on Amazon. A word of caution though, be careful which Amazon vender you buy from. Vitamin Shoppe is usually the cheapest but sometimes direct from Amazon is comparable. The other venders tend to be more expensive. Hope this helps.

I recently stumbled across this flavor at Whole Foods and was excited to try it. Ugh! I forced myself to take a second bite to give it a fair shot, but I can't stand this flavor. Threw the rest away, and had to grab a drink to wash the taste out of my mouth.
I do not recommend trying a box of these unless you're sure this flavor is for you!
