(More customer reviews)WOW! Anyone who thinks Hoodia doesn't work hasn't really tried Hoodoba PURE 750. I almost gave up on Hoodia after getting no suppression with several so-called "top brands." But by the 3rd day of my trial with Hoodoba PURE 750, three capsules before each meal extinguished my appetite better than 15 mgs. of medically prescribed Dexedrine. From my initial 287 pounds, I've already lost 98 pounds and eliminated all signs of diabetes thanks to Hoodoba PURE, without exercising. Yes, I should exercise, but I thank G-d every day for this lifesaving plant and a still-honest company that refuses to dilute it -- just for profits.
If anyone knows of anything else that can painlessly KEEP fat off a 52-year-old male as well as Hoodoba PURE, I'm all ears. Until then, I'll stick with Hoodoba PURE 750. (It works so well that two of my doctors are now using it on other patients.)
P.S. Only one other Hoodia brand suppressed my appetite, but even when I used 8 of their 750 mg. capsules, it did NOT equal the intensity and duration of appetite suppression I routinely get from two to three Hoodoba PURE 750s. (After my 3rd week on Hoodoba, two capsules before meals could suffice to stop my overeating; three zapped all desire to eat.) Hoodoba PURE 750s contain absolutely NO fillers, flowing agents, or other junk (such as magnesium stearate); everything else I tried and researched was heavily DILUTED with unnecessary and unhealthy garbage. I believe this is a key reason Hoodoba PURE works where others fail.
Tip: CHEWING my Hoodoba PURE 750 veggie-capsules makes them zap my appetitie sooner and deepens the suppression. I also achieve a nice level of suppression with Hoodoba's 400 mg. capsules as well as their 500 mg. Potent Hoodia liquid version, but I prefer Hoodoba PURE 750 more than any other Hoodia product on the market.

(More customer reviews)After reading the patent application for this product, I conclude that the salty "tastants" contain quite a lot of MSG or other free glutamate as flavor enhancers. Hence my thought that results might be the same with "Sazon". The salty "tastants", all followed by the word 'flavor', by month, are: cheddar cheese, onion, horseradish, ranch, taco, and parmesan. The patent application states that the constituents of these flavors are preferably generally recognized as safe by the FDA. (as an aside, there have been studies showing a link between MSG consumption and reduced body fat and weight...along with studies with contradictory results).
Is it a bad idea to sprinkle MSG on everything one eats? There lies controversy. Does an excess of glutamate surrounding a neuron cause cell death? Absolutely. Is this process implicated in neurodegenerative diseases? Definitely. Does that glutamate come from the MSG and other sources of free glutamate in our diets? That is a larger issue than I want to attempt to address. But if you are trying to answer this question for yourself, I would suggest looking into ppl like Blaylock (who thinks that MSG is a causative factor in neurogenerative disease), his background, where he has published his papers, and other theories he holds dear, before necessarily believing that MSG is poison. I am not saying it isn't, simply encouraging consumers to educate themselves before making decisions.
Stepping away from that particular fray to address the sweet "tastants"... They are, by month: coca (sic), spearmint, banana, strawberry, raspberry, and malt (again, all followed by the word 'flavor'). The implication is that these, too, enhance the flavor of the food and help one to eat less of it. While the base of the tastants might impart a slightly sweet taste, the mechanism of enhancement is more mysterious with the sweet variety. That said, additives with free glutamates are also frequently used to enhance sweet flavors, so perhaps it is precisely the same.
The information about the tastants in the patent application does not seem to relate much, if at all, to Hirch's earlier published work about sniffing scents to help keep from over-eating. And the tastants don't smell like much of anything, in or out of the shaker.
A last point of interest, of the (only!) ninety-two people included in the study, their average weight loss for each month, by month, was (only!), in pounds: 3.3, 2.5, .1, .2, .6, and 0.
In conclusion, the weight loss described (in the patent application, at least) seems very modest given the cost of a potentially dangerous product.
UPDATE 3/12/10 I found the following on [...]: "Take a diet phenomenon of 2005, Sprinkle Thin, a powder you sprinkle on your food that, through enhancing taste, is supposed to decrease appetite. The company's "study" (which was later found fraudulent) claimed people lost an average of 33.5 pounds in 6 months. Unsatisfied customers complained, but it wasn't until a year--and millions in revenue--later the website was taken down. Now a Google search for Sprinkle Thin merits the message: "The FTC warns that diet pill sites may make exaggerated claims that can potentially mislead consumers." Well, the quack doctor behind Sprinkle Thin knows how to take advantage of the FDA's hands-off policy. He reincarnated his flakes, marketing them as Sensa. "20/20" called the "doc" on his bogus claims, but legally, Sensa doesn't have to shut down until the FDA finishes lengthy studies to prove the stuff doesn't work. By that time, Sensa will have duped thousands of people and made a ga-zillion dollars."

I used to weigh 245lbs, but am now down into the 160s and have become a personal trainer. I know of just about every weightloss product on the market and could tell you whether or not it will work. I lost all of my weight with solely diet and exercise, but I can understand those who need a bit of help. One of my clients recently asked me if it would be a good idea for her to take this Alli supplement to help her lose weight. I asked her what was in it, and she said she didn't know, so I looked it up. It sounded legitimate enough, except for the "treatment effects". Essentially, Alli contains a compound called orlistat which binds to fats in your digestive tract, and carries them out of the body instead of allowing them to be absorbed.
So, I decided to purchase a 120 pack to test it for myself before I let someone else go at it without me knowing about it. I should also say that I eat extremely healthy, and while I may eat a good amount of fat, it is all good fat (I only cook with olive, or canola oil, eat lean chicken or fish regularly with red meats about once a week, 50% of a meal is always vegetables and fruits, take 3g fish and 3g flax oil supplements everyday, and eat a few ounces of almonds throughout the day. Daily intake is around 1800-2000cal depending on the day).
So, the first day I took one with each meal and didn't notice anything. I was ready to write this pill off as hype, until the second day (today). I woke up, went to class and felt like passing gas. Thank god against my good judgement I didn't, because I let it out in the car and immediately felt my underwear become wet. I couldn't believe it when I went home and had a bowel movement that the toilet was covered in orange oil which was the fat the pill removed. It smells horrid and is hard to remove.
Therefore, I give this product a 3 star rating because it does exactly what it advertises. It removes excess fat from your body by passing it through your digestive system. However, if you aren't prepared, you can easily embarrass yourself with the product's treatment effects. Also, the product makes it harder for the body to take up fat soluble vitamins, so a multivitamin is a must. So, if you eat a lot of fat, this product won't really change anything for you like a thermogenic will, but it will show you and force you to eat less fat. Hope that helps.

(More customer reviews)I first discovered this pill at the local gas station, and the cashier told me she took one and it made her vomit. Certainly does create a feeling of nausea if you don't follow the instructions and take it after a meal. And it causes a pain in the stomach if there is no food at all in there.
It takes a little bit of experimenting to know just the right way to use this diet pill. I picked up the 60 pill pack at the local drugstore and it contains 20 vials with 3 pills each, I guess so you can carry 1 vial with you during the day. But it makes abusing the pill tempting, and I can imagine kids daring each other to "just take the whole vial of pills at once man". Because of the euphoria created by the Yohimbe and it's effect of heightening pleasurable activity and skin sensitivity, people will of course tend to abuse this pill. But the caffeine content limits just how much you can handle.
I like it a lot, but here is some advice: Don't take it 4 to 6 hours before bedtime our you will not sleep well unless you have a physically exhausting job like me. If you take more than the recommend dosage all day long, you will be acting a little nuts by the end of the day. For me it tends to make everything very beautiful also.
The Dihydroxybergamottin ingredient slows down the body's ability to metabolize and use drugs, so they act slower and last longer. This can be a very bad thing if you are taking any other drugs of *any kind*.
The only real ingredient in this pill besides the caffeine is the yohimbe. But this pill contains a pure alkaloid extract of the yohimbe bark so the other natural ingredients that provide a synergistic "calming" effect are missing, so it's not at all similar to taking a yohimbe tincture.
To all those who are creative and like to play with herbs, I highly recommend buying yohimbe bark instead and making an extract yourself, and putting that in pills. It's much better without all the caffeine these pills contain and much cheaper.
But overall, I do love this diet pill more than the rest, yet some days it has a stronger effect than others. If you take more than the recommend dosage of this pill and you think "hey man this doesn't do 'nothin at all" then here is a test to prove just how powerful this stuff is --- Squat down and inhale deeply in and out just 3 times, then stand up. You will see stars and may even faint. I'm on my feet for 10 hours straight every day at work, 6 days a week. This pill makes getting through the day much easier and actually enjoyable, but when I stand up too fast I realize just how much of an effect these chemicals have on the body. And like I said, those who enage in 'pleasurable' activities while using yohimbe will really see what this Stacker 3 pill does.
