I have worked in a large hospital for over 30 years and at first was swayed by what doctors told me about "The Weight Loss Cure" so I paid no attention to it. My sister had given me the book for Christmas and I ended up reading it and in the course of 16 months I lost 240 pounds and am FINALLY at a normal body mass index and totally healthy from head to toe. You have to realize that doctors, especially in the mainstream, don't WANT you to do anything but what "they" claim is best for you. However, it has been my experience that a large number of physicians are arrogant and greedy and have very tiny little closed minds outside of the scope of their general field of practice. My own physician told me I would be an idiot to read this book and use it to lose weight. However, here I am today, 240 pounds lighter, have passed a full physical including blood work, passed a full cardiology workup including treadmill test, and have come out clean as a whistle with full resolution of hypertension and prediabetic status.
Needless to say, I fired my doctor and established with one who has an open mind and works with me based on MY decisions, not vice versa!

(More customer reviews)Over the years I haved started suffering from late night gut cramps at random intervals. I would get a cramps, spend an hour or so voiding and taking strong pain medication and then would be fine for a period. I tried this stuff after my Mom's recommendation, it was a rough first week on a low dose but after that I felt good and noticed a few of yucky bowel movements which diminished. Now with an occasional three day course every few weeks I don't suffer from the problem any more for years. My wife got ill with some sort of stomach complaint recently which made her sensitive to rich foods, I got her to try the stuff and am now running out of the stuff as she uses it more than me, it made a big difference nearly eliminating the symptoms.

I was at the end of my rope and had tried everything for several years with no results. I was about to make an appointment with a physician to see what he could do, but was weary because all the research I had done on prescription weight loss medications had led me to know I would either have ugly side-effects (I am very sensitive and if there is a side-effect, I will have it), or no long term way of living with them. I researched Hoodia for about 20 hours on the Internet and chose this product above all others. I chose the liquid to avoid any possible intestinal upset from the plant fibers.
Not only am I losing weight (about 2-3 pounds per week), but I also have a remarkable sense of well being and relaxation with the hoodia. I am hooked. No doubt the effects on the hypothalamus also include this lovely calm sensation and I hope scientists can learn more about this amazing plant soon. Also, I no longer beat myself up for all the failed diets...it is clear that I simply was not chemically able to supress my hunger and now I feel that imbalance has been corrected. There is no stimulant side-effect at all: I still have all the energy I need, but can sleep and rest well.

Below is what I discovered and everything sounds healthy and productive for losing weight in a healthy manner. I hope it is helpful.
Thiamine: Plays an important role in helping the body metabolize carbohydrates and fat to produce energy. It is essential for normal growth and development and helps to maintain proper functioning of the heart and the nervous and digestive systems. Thiamine is water-soluble and cannot be stored in the body; however, once absorbed, the vitamin is concentrated in muscle tissue.
Niacin: When taken in large doses, blocks the breakdown of fats in adipose tissue, thus altering blood lipid levels. Niacin is used in the treatment of hyperlipidemia because it reduces very-low-density lipoprotein (VLDL), a precursor of low-density lipoprotein (LDL) or "bad" cholesterol.
